Deed Tranfer Marks a Major Step Forward for Museum…..

Photo Credit - Nathan TsukroffFriday, April 11th, in the town of Gray, the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Co. & Museum took a major step forward towards relocation.   A ceremonial passing of the deed for the right-of-way to the former Portland-Lewiston Interurban took place between Central Maine Power Company and the museum.   Central Maine Power donated the property which the historic narrow gauge train will operate on in the coming years.

Sharon Hickey, Board President of the MNG accepts the Deed from Alice Richards of CMP - Photo Credit Nathan TsukroffIn attendance for the ceremony were members and staff of the museum, owners of the Gray Plaza, town officials, staff of Central Maine Power Company, members of the Gray New Gloucester Development Corporation and members of the public.  The ceremony took place on the site of the proposed new museum and train station.  In the photo at right, the museum’s Board President, Sharon Hickey, accepts the Deed from Alice Richards of Central Maine Power Company.
