Drive a Diesel Engine

Spend an hour as diesel engineer operating a 23 ton four axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Electric in 1949. We guarantee you will have the throttle for at least 45 minutes.  This is an excellent opportunity to experience hands-on history.  Dates and times are reserved in advance to work with your schedule.

Cost: $75.00                                                                                                                             Schedule:
15 minute introduction, engine start-up, and observation (maximum)
45 minutes on the throttle (minimum)
Total elapsed time – 1 hour                                                                          Requirements:
1.  You must be at least 16 years old and hold a valid driver’s license to participate.
2.  Signed Liability Waiver
3.  Confirmed Reservation
Reservations: Advance reservations are required and will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the popularity of this program, it is highly recommended that you make your reservations as soon as possible. Payment can be made by check or credit card. Payment must be received in order to guarantee your reservation. A waiting list will be kept in case of cancellations. The locomotive is not accessible to those in a wheelchair, who use a walker, or have other mobility limitations. You must climb steep stairs to enter the locomotive. You must be able to stand for several minutes while operating the locomotive.
