Membership and donations pay about 20% of our annual expenses. We need and greatly appreciate your support.
Railroad operations (train rides), gift shop sales, and special events (Polar Express) cover overhead expenses (rent, salaries, and insurance). We rely on grants and donations to fund restoration projects, new exhibits and maintenance. You can designate how your donation will be spent. Current projects include: rebuilding Engine 7 (steam locomotive); restoring the snow plow; track maintenance; and our newest exhibit on the history of the narrow gauge railroads in Maine.
