One and a half miles of track might not sound like much, but that’s several thousand railroad ties, several hundred lengths of rail and tons of road bed material (ballast). Keeping all that in good repair requires hours of volunteer work and funding for materials. Track work days are scheduled frequently, so check here for the next one or browse through past work reports to get an idea of what’s involved. It’s a great workout in the fresh air with a lovely view and good companionship!
