You never know where volunteer service may take you. In the case of Sharon Hickey and Fred Roberts, time spent volunteering at the railroad museum resulted in romance. The couple was married this May in a ceremony along the Eastern Promenade in Portland.
Fred and Sharon met at the museum while volunteering as a part of the train crew. They can often be seen volunteering together; Fred as Engineer and Sharon as Conductor. In addition to time spent aboard the train, Sharon has served as President of the Board of Directors for the past two years.
Their guests were treated to a train ride as a part of the wedding celebration. Congratulations Sharon and Fred – we’re so happy for both of you!
